Where do you get the data for your reports?

Our reports use data from the 2000 Census conducted by the U.S. Census Bureau. Data for years after 2000 come from this same data in conjunction with Census Bureau projection formulas based the 2000 data and estimated growth rates at that time.

What is meant by a radius report?

A radius report is a report that shows cumulative demographic data for a circular area around a given location. The size of the circle is determined by a given radius. Our reports show data for 3 different circular areas, based on 3 different radius values, around a given location. Our standard-radius report shows data for 1-mile, 3-mile and 5-mile radius values. Our custom-radius report allows you to specify the 3 radius values, from a quarter mile to 100 miles.

What is the difference between your standard-radius report and custom-radius report?

Our radius reports show cumulative demographic data for 3 circular areas surrounding the location you specify. In a standard-radius report the 3 areas are based on radius values of 1 mile, 3 miles and 5 miles; these values cannot be customized. In a custom-radius report you may customize the size of each circle by specify the radius for each one, using values ranging from a quarter mile to 100 miles.

I am trying to generate a radius report with radius values other than 1 mile, 3 miles and 5 miles. How can I do so?

You can customize your radius values if you have signed up for a custom-radius option. If not, you will need to upgrade your account to a custom-radius option. To do so, please email your request to supportquestions@buydemographics.com.

What is a zip code report and how does it differ from a radius report?

A zip code report provides you with cumulative demographic data for the area within a zip code that you provide. The area for which your report will contain data consists entirely of the area contained with the specified zip code. There is no need to supply a center point or radius values, since the area is not based on a center point and radius. For a single report you can supply up to 3 zip codes. The report will show demographic data for each distinct zip code.

How do I upgrade my account from the standard-radius option to the custom-radius option?

To upgrade your account, please email your request to supportquestions@buydemographics.com.

Can I customize the layout of the data on the reports?

No. At this time, report layouts are not customizable. The format of each report is exactly like the format seen in our sample reports. We anticipate customizable layouts sometime in the future.

Do you offer reports in any other format besides pdf, such as csv or Excel?

No. At the moment all reports are generated as pdf documents, and require Adobe Reader. We anticipate offering other formats sometime in the future.

Am I allowed to share my account with another individual?

No. Our subscriptions are provided on an individual license basis. Sharing your access information is a violation of our terms and conditions, unless you have received explicit written permission from us to do so. We do offer group access discounts. Do you offer group or bulk discounts?

Yes, if you anticipate the need for multiple individuals within your organization to have access to our system, we may be able to offer a group discount. Please inquire with us via email at supportquestions@buydemographics.com.

How do I cancel my subscription?

To cancel your subscription, please send a cancellation request to billingquestions@buydemographics.com. Please be sure to send your request at least 5 days prior to the beginning of the next billing cycle in order to avoid being billed for that cycle.
